1. Who we are

HardwareGuard is made and sold by Rare-Stone Development, a trading name of Joseph Jones, a sole trader in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). You can contact us at support@rarestonedevelopment.co.uk.

2. Your licence

When you buy HardwareGuard, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use it on computers that you own or control, for personal or business use. The software is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights in it.

3. What you may not do

• Copy, sell, rent, share or redistribute the installer or the software to others.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or modify the software, except where the law allows it despite this restriction.
• Remove any copyright or licence notices, including the third-party notices below.

4. Buying HardwareGuard

Purchases are processed by our payment provider. The price and any taxes are shown at checkout before you pay. Your download is delivered after payment. Our Refund Policy applies to every purchase.

5. Updates

HardwareGuard can check for and install updates. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings. We may release updates that add, change or remove features to improve the software or keep it working with new versions of Windows.

6. What HardwareGuard is, and isn't

HardwareGuard reads the sensors that your hardware and drivers report and shows them to you. Readings depend on your hardware and can be inaccurate or unavailable. Its alerts, anomaly flags and Security tab are informational signals, not diagnoses or guarantees. It does not replace antivirus software, professional hardware diagnostics or your own judgement. Please don't rely on HardwareGuard as a safety device.

7. Our responsibility to you

We will provide the software with reasonable care and skill, and it will be as described on our website. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under UK consumer law, or excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.

Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, or for loss of data, profits or business, and our total liability to you for anything connected with the software is limited to the price you paid for it.

8. Ending the licence

You can stop using HardwareGuard at any time by uninstalling it. We may end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and you must then stop using the software and delete your copies.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the software changes. The version that applied when you bought HardwareGuard continues to apply to that purchase unless a change is required by law or is in your favour.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring a claim in the courts of that country.

Third-party software

HardwareGuard is built with the help of open-source software. We are grateful to its authors. The main components are:

• LibreHardwareMonitor (LibreHardwareMonitorLib): hardware sensor reading. Licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. Its source code is available at github.com/LibreHardwareMonitor/LibreHardwareMonitor.
• LiveCharts2 and SkiaSharp: charts and graphics rendering. MIT licence.
• PresentMon: frame-rate measurement for the Game tab. MIT licence.
• Microsoft .NET and Microsoft.Data.Sqlite: application runtime and local storage. MIT licence.

The complete list of components and their licence notices is included with the app, under Settings → Third-party notices. Each component remains the property of its respective owners and stays under its own licence.
